Ricky Martin Meets His Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds Sydney

Pop icon and The Voice judge comes face-to-face with his wax figure

international superstar Ricky Martin was on site at Madame Tussauds Sydney to introduce his wax figure to Australia for the first time. Martin’s figure will feature as a permanent addition in the Darling Harbour attraction’s ‘Music Zone’.

Known for hits such as Livin’ La Vida Loca, She Bangs, and his latest single Mr. Put It Down featuring Pitbull, the Grammy Award winner has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide and certified platinum more than 95 times in over 20 countries. He is also a New York Times bestselling author, philanthropist, and critically acclaimed Broadway star.

In Sydney to perform his One World Tour live at All Phones Arena tonight, Ricky Martin was pleased to be involved in the Australia reveal of his wax figure.

“It was such an incredible experience to take part in the Madame Tussauds process,” said Ricky Martin. “I’m truly amazed at how much work has gone into making this figure as authentic as possible.”

Madame Tussauds is world-renowned for the creation of detailed and lifelike wax figures that pay homage to A-list celebrities from film and television, sports icons, musicians from all genres, and notable figures from history and pop culture.

Each Madame Tussauds figure is truly a work of art, involving teams of professional artists and sculptors, who spend months on extensive research and taking more than 500 measurements to recreate world-famous icons, to achieve the kind of astonishing realism that has been at the heart of the Madame Tussauds legacy for more than 250 years.

“It’s such an honour to have Ricky Martin here at Madame Tussauds Sydney to reveal his wax figure for the very first time in Australia. I have no doubt his amazingly lifelike wax figure will be extremely popular with our guests,” said Steve Hinks, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney.

“We invite all Ricky Martin fans to get up close and personal and shake their ‘bon-bon’ and have a selfie with his wax figure.”

Guests at Madame Tussauds Sydney will meet their icons in an immersive and interactive experience, bursting with family fun and world-class entertainment. Moving through themed areas guests will come face-to-face with their favorite stars from award-winning film actors, to sport stars, historical and modern world leaders, as well as music legends.
