The Palace Hotel used to be an Irish pub and has recently re-opened as a much classier establishment. The food was exceptional – fresh, hot, tasty, good varied menu and well-priced. Waiting staff were very attentive.

They especially cater for theatre goers so service is quick but not rushed. On the border of Chinatown and walking distance from Central Station. Transport, including tram from Central and Casino etc stops right at door.

Highly recommend it and will certainly be returning there again.

The Jacksons - Live at the Sydney Entertainment Centre

With the stunning worldwide success of the Jacksons’ Unity 2012 Tour, the most legendary family in music history is bringing their once-in-a-lifetime reunion show to Australia. A worldwide sensation since the 1970s, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson are thrilled to be returning to Australia after nearly 30 years to perform all their multitude of hits and to pay special tribute to their late brother Michael.

Beloved by millions of fans across the globe for their soulful, sunny sound, contagious stage presence and unforgettable roster of hits, the Jacksons first achieved international superstardom with their brother Michael, becoming the first group ever to have their first four singles hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. Throughout their four-decade long career, the group revolutionized music and pop culture, getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. The Unity Tour 2012 will be yet another milestone for the Jacksons, bringing the most famous family in music back together for a historic series of shows.

UAE Presents Co Founder Ritchie Perera stated, “We are very proud to be associated with such a legendary band. The mere fact that the Australian public will get to see this once in a lifetime event excites us beyond belief – The Jacksons are the soul of some of the greatest music ever made – Australia get ready!!”

“This is a dream coming true,” said Jackie Jackson of the tour. “I can't believe this is finally happening. There’s nothing like having all the brothers on stage at the same time. This will be exciting for our fans around the world– and I know at each concert, MJ's spirit will be in the house with us.”

Honoring Michael’s memory and bringing the fans all the timeless hits they know and love is also paramount for Jermaine Jackson. “I am so happy and excited to perform again onstage with my brothers,” he said. “I can't wait to sing all the songs that were so much a part of all of our lives. We are ready and committed to keep the family’s legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity

Enjoy the Spirit of Christmas with a Festive Lunch at the Palace Hotel

Christmas fare is on the menu and guests are invited to enjoy a modern twist on traditional fare at the Palace Hotel in Sydney’s Haymarket, a fixture in Sydney since 1877.

With the advent of warmer weather, Sydney is on a fast track to December 25 with department stores dressing their floors with festive cheer, Christmas trees ready to be erected around the city and shoppers starting to tick off their Christmas shopping lists.

From December 1st, the Palace Hotel is inviting diners to take a moment to enjoy the season with a special festive two course luncheon menu – which includes a complimentary glass of champagne or wine.

The two course menu offers a selection of tempting mains such as Crispy Skin Salmon, Slow Cooked Pork Neck and Chicken Ballotine. Guests can then choose from Pavlova with Mixed Berry or Christmas Pudding with Vanilla Ice cream for dessert.

The Christmas Luncheon menu is priced at $45 per person and includes a glass of house wine or champagne.

“Christmas should be a time when families and friends take time out to enjoy each other’s company,” General Manager, Marcus van Vogt said.

“The Hotel has been serving Christmas lunch to guests in Sydney for 135 years. We want to continue to provide a place where people can get together and enjoy quality modern food at affordable prices, and enjoy time with friends and family.”

Marcus said the set-price luncheon was also a great option for businesses wanting to organise a staff lunch, either as a social occasion of work Christmas party.

“The Palace Hotel is conveniently located on the corner of George and Hay Streets in Sydney’s entertainment precinct and a great place to kick off your work Christmas festivities,” Marcus said.

The Christmas Luncheon offer is available until 23 December 2012. To book, call 9288 0140 or email functions@palacehotelsydney.com.au
